LitFlash: 'Hurt No Living Thing'
A 'flash' of literature in your day...
Our editor is under the weather, so for this week we're trialling a new, even shorter 'hit' of literature: the LitFlash.
Enjoy this brief poem, and we'll be back next week with a full LitHit!
Christina Rossetti, 'Hurt No Living Thing'
Hurt no living thing:
Ladybird, nor butterfly,
Nor moth with dusty wing,
Nor cricket chirping cheerily,
Nor grasshopper so light of leap,
Nor dancing gnat, nor beetle fat,
Nor harmless worms that creep.
